Hello and welcome! πŸ’•

I am sooo excited to be a part of the amazing Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop Team.

Mat and layer Wild Poppy Paper onto black card stock onto a UK DL sized card (4 x 81/4″) edged in Distress Oxide Black Soot.

Stamp onto white card stock the Wild Poppy and Wild Poppy Accents in black versafine and colour with water colour inks and water pen TIP: use Distress re-inkers in a palette and add water as and when you want to use your water colour palette, the water will evaporate but just add a little water again to wake them up! Die-cut with the coordinating die sets, shape with ball tool and hot glue off-set petals of the same size to create each poppy. Thread Assorted Medium Bead Stamen through a pierced hole in the small poppy and secure at the back with hot glue, remove the excess wire when the glue has set. Add an Apple Nuvo Drop at the centre of the larger poppy and when dry add dries clear glue around the drop with Power Outage prills.

Die-cut Wild Poppy Paper with French Gate die TIP: to add strength to the die-cut adhere to another die-cut layer.

Die-cut Ornamental Tag in black cardstock and white heat emboss ‘In Sympathy’ Cheerful Note Sentiments.

Create a shadow box to fit French Gate die-cut over. Cut Wild Poppy Paper to 6 3/4 x 9 3/4″ lay portrait in Scor-pal and score 4no. 1/2″ the full length of the paper, rotate and repeat until all 4no. sides have score lines and the paper is sitting portrait in the scor-pal add a further score line 1″ long (covers 2 score lines) flip your paper over and repeat. Repeat this process to the bottom of the paper. Cut down the 1″ long score line then (2 score lines), then outward diagonal for 1 score line, then straight down for the final score line. Where the last inner score lines cross cut away the entire corner section and repeat on all corners.

The sample here is just plain white card stock to make it clearer how to score and cut, you can use the Wild Poppy Paper straight away.

Burnish all the score lines and cut a pattern piece of Wild Poppy paper that you would like to be visible inside the shadow box and cut to approx 21/2 x 51/2″.

Prior to adhering the shadow box adhere the paper panel inside the score lines and ensure the shadow box will fold easily. Adhere the straight side of the shadow box first then adhere the angle corners over.

Adhere the French Gate die-cut over the shadow box and add pearls. Adhere the shadow box to the front of the DL card.

Use foam pads to secure the poppy corner top and bottom and hot glue to adhere the remainder die-cuts. Pull the sentiment strip through your fingers to shape prior to sticking down. Cut off some leaves from another die-cut and tuck under the shadow box to give additional dimension.

I hope you have found my blog helpful and inspiring today and I look forward to seeing your makes on the Heartfelt Creations Official Facebook page.
